Happy April Fool’s Day and opening day for M.L.B. Today marks the beginning of the Mariners 44th season. Will this be the year? As we are thinking about that, twenty-eight men and women signed the official logbook for another gathering of friendships and good conversation. Looking around the room a big hello to Jim Geiser and to Greg Pote’s son Connor. This is Connor’s third meeting making him an official member of R.A.P.
At 12:00 Noon, Greg rang the bell followed Connor leading the Pledge of Allegiance.
For the beverage drawing, Cloyd asked Jim Johnson to stir up the plastic chips. Out came #17 belonging to Dean Quall.
Under the Sad News department, sorry to report that Marcus Taylor #3655 passed away. Mark left the department in December 1983 after serving twelve years.
Our treasurer reported last week the club brought in $4.00. Checking account now up to $1491. No birthday’s this week.
The president called for the Cory and Kathy Ness ten-dollar drawing. Past-president Dennis Hossfeld mixed up the chips and picked #28 belonging to past-president Dave Hortin.
In the absence of our Prince of Mirth, Caroll Wedlund and John Guich filled in. Caroll had a cute story about a hot date and John had a baseball story made in heaven.
For today’s raffle, Paul collected $140.00 to give away. Judi Smith reached into the plastic jug and retrieved ticket stub #5435733 awarding Jim Geiser the big bucks for attending R.A.P. Caroll pulled out ticket stub #5435694 giving the remaining cash to the Dave DeMoss consortium.
Congratulations to all the winners. See everybody next week…
