APRIL 20, 2017

On this nice Spring day thirty-one men signed their names to the log-in book. At 12:00 Noon Temporary Vice-President Merv Henderson sounded the bell signaling President Greg Pote to led all in reciting our country’s Pledge of Allegiance.

Greg welcomed back Past President Dave Hortin. Also, Chuck Pillon made the trip from Renton and Hank Gruber drove in from Monroe. Chuck proposed a toast to Mayor Ed Murray. Greg noted that Cloyd Steiger has now attended the required number of meetings to became an official member. Having completed initiation and paid the dues, Cloyd’s name will be placed on the rolls.

Greg called to the podium Bill Green. Greg presented Bill his president plaque and thanked him for his service as club president. Bill expressed his thanks to everybody.

The winner of today’s Witkowski beverage drawing is Dave Hortin. Dave stirred up the plastic chips and pulled out his number 15. (It has happened before.)

In pension office news: Mike Germann is now at the Cherry Hill Rehab Center recovering from his recent heart surgery. A “Get Well” card was passed around for all to sign and will be sent to Mike.

Treasurer Guich informed the members the bank is holding $2488.08 of the club’s money. Birthday’s this week include Jim Geiser who turns 73, John Larson will be 80, and Don Skarr celebrates his 68th. Happy birthday to all.

Greg called for the five-dollar give away. Cloyd Steiger reached into the container and pulled out chip number 15 handing John Nordlund the five-dollar bill.

In the absence of our Prince of Mirth, Mike Severance started the laughter with a story about a wife who fell overboard and became lobster bate. Mr. Barden told us about Abdul getting water for the Afghanistan diplomat and Dave Hortin described the distance between the penis and the scrotum.

For today’s raffle Paul collected $123.00 to hand out. Paul dared Dave Hortin to pick his own number. Dave tried his best but in the end pulled out number 3755617 held by Mike Severance. Mike in turn picked number 3755651 handing Joe Sanford the remaining dollars.

Congratulations to all the winners, see everybody next week.
