AUGUST 24, 2017

On this mid-summer day twenty-seven R.A.P. club members signed the log-in book to enjoy another week of friendship and good conversation.  Vice-president Henderson greeted everybody while at the same time collected the one-dollar dues.  At 12:00 noon the sound of the club’s bell could be heard throughout the meeting room.  President Pote led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Greg said hello to Tom Caldwell.  It has been a couple months since Tom attended a meeting.  Also, good to see our Prince of Mirth Boyd Brannan along with Chuck Ziegler.

To start things off with the Witkowski beverage drawing, Merv had Tom Caldwell stir up the plastic chips.  And the winning number is 10 today belonging to John Nordlund.  (Dick Sherwood reported that Tom has recovered enough to return home from CRISTA.)

In news from the pension office:  ASA Linda Timmen #5017 passed away this week at age 70.  Linda worked for the department from 1986 to 2014 splitting her time between Pawn Shop and Burglary.

Treasurer Guich told us the club has $1958.09 in the bank.  No official notification of birthdays but if memory serves Bill Taylor, Rusty Leslie, and Dick Sherwood celebrated their birthdays sometime during the past week.

John told the crowd that he would like to resign as club treasurer.  He said that John Nordlund expressed a willingness to take over the duties.  The floor was open for submission of other names.  No other names were proposed, a vote was taken, Nordlund is now the club’s treasurer.

Time for the $5.00 drawing.  Riley Brice reached into the container and pulled out chip number 19 handing Jim Johnson the five-dollar bill.

To start the laughter our Prince of Mirth had a story about tobacco smoke enema.  Paul Barden followed up by telling us about an injured Marine Corps fighter pilot who was told by his nurse that he wouldn’t be able to feel anything from the waist down so he opted for her breasts.  Paul had another story about a man picking up a lesbian at a bar only to discover she was not from Libyan.

Now time for the raffle.  Paul collected $125.00 to handout.  For the big bucks Chuck Ziegler reached into the plastic jug and pulled out ticket stub number 9615005 purchased by Al Nelson.  For the remaining dollars Al pulled out number 9614975 purchased by John Guich, et al.

Congratulations to all the winners.  See everybody next week…
