AUGUST 29, 2019

For this week’s meeting, twenty-four men and women signed in to enjoy friendship and good conversation.  At 12:00 noon John Guich rang the club’s bell followed by Shaun O’Kinsella leading the pledge of allegiance.  President Green called for order and welcomed all.  Nice to see Terri MacMillan in the crowd.

Bill called for the beverage draw.  Joe Sanford asked Paul Barden to mix up the chips.  Out came number 12, today belonging to Jim Johnson, Jr.

In news from the desk of Dan Oliver, sorry to report Marty Grzech #2608 passed away on August 27th.  Marty was 85 years old.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 31st beginning at 1:00 pm at Holyrood Cemetery, 205 N.E. 205th St.  Also, Sally Rice widow of Bob Rice passed away on August 24th.  Sally was 86 years old.

“Get Well” cards were passed around for Cory Ness and Joe Sanford.  Both Cory and Joe underwent surgical procedures this past week.

The treasurer reported last week the club brought in $7.00.  Checking account now up to $1407.00.

Celebrating their birthday’s this week are Paul Barden who is now 83 years old, Kathy Ness is 62 years old, and Dave Ritter turns 76.  Happy birthday all.  (A big birthday cake for Paul is in the offering after business ends.)

Now for the Severance ten-dollar drawing.  President Green stirred up the chips.  And the winner is Dan Melton who signed in on line 17.

Bill called for jokes.  Al Nelson stood up but after several minutes of searching his phone he couldn’t find the joke all were waiting to hear.  Mike Severance filled in with a cute story about an older man going to the doctor complaining about his high sex drive.  When asked what the problem was the man said he wanted it “lowered”.

For the raffle today there was $115.00 up for grabs.  Paul reached into the plastic jug and came out with ticket stub #3885634 purchased by Mike Fann.  The remaining dollars went to Shaun O’Kinsella holding ticket stub #3885646.

Congratulations to all our winners.  See everybody next week…
