Retired Seattle Police Officers Association

RAP | Retired & Active Police

RAP meets every Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Nile Country Club, 205th & Interstate 5.

DECEMBER 14, 2017

After yesterday’s RSPOA/RAP Christmas lunch, thirteen RAP Club members made the drive back to the Nile to attend today’s meeting.  After Jim Campbell rang the club’s bell at straight up Noon, President Pote led everybody in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Greg closely looked out over the crowd and could not detect any “Long Time No Sees” in attendance.

For the Witkowski beverage drawing, Jim asked Bill Green to mix up the chips.  Out came number 12 today belonging to Paul Giersch.

Sorry to report that yesterday Lloyd Williams passed away.  Lloyd was 72 years old.  Jerry Smith told a good story about Lloyd protecting his daughter on the soccer field.  Eric Michl told everybody of Lloyd’s guidance and how thankful he is for knowing him.  Greg asked for a moment of silence in remembrance of Lloyd.

Treasurer Nordlund reported last week the club made $22.00 bringing the treasury up to $2210.09.  And Greg’s wife Patti celebrated her 56th birthday.  Happy birthday Patti.

For those that missed the announcement at yesterday’s lunch, the RSPOA has donated ten thousand dollars to the Honor Guard to help purchase new uniforms.

In the absence of our Prince of Mirth, Mike Severance started the laughter with a story about logic; John Guich told us about a 54-year-old woman who knew how long she was going to live; Paul Giersch had a cute story about a kid in a diner ordering a cheeseburger.  Good job by all.

Because of the low attendance, John only collected $65.00 to giveaway.  Nick Bulpin reached into the plastic jug and pulled out ticket #6220162 purchased by The Greyhound.  Some refer to him as Dr. Death, others know him simply as John Boren.  Congratulations to today’s winners.

See everybody next week…
