A week after our Christmas Luncheon, twenty-five men and women returned the Nile, signed the official logbook to enjoy the weekly gathering of friendship and good conversations. At straight up Noon Cory Ness rang the bell followed by President Green leading the pledge of allegiance.
Once everybody was seated Bill welcomed all and acknowledged the presence of Merv Henderson and Pepper Pramhus.
To get things rolling with the beverage drawing, Joe Sanford asked Pepper to stir up the chips. Out came number four. A quick look at line four in the logbook showed Dan Melton today’s winner.
Shaun O’Kinsella told the group that next week Dick Sherwood will undergo a heart procedure. We all wish Dick a speedy recovery and look forward to his return to R.A.P.
The treasurer reported two weeks ago the club brought in $5.00. Checking account now contains $1468.00. Nick announced the cost of the luncheon will come in around $3700.00.
Bill called our servers Gina and Hayley to the podium where he presented them Christmas cards expressing our thanks for their service.
Over the past two weeks Past President Dennis Hossfeld and Jerry Kemp celebrated their birthdays. Dennis is now 74 years old and Jerry turned 67.
Now for the Severance ten-dollar drawing. Shaun mixed up the chips coming out with number 25. A quick look for the last name signing in is Greg Goldwyn.
With the extra ten dollars in his pocket Greg started the laughter with a story about a penguin driving across the desert when he blew a seal. Not that kind of seal.
Kathy Ness entertained the crowd by singing the holiday song “Let it Snow”. Nice job Kathy.
For the raffle Paul collected $110.00 to give away. Pepper reached into the plastic jug and came out with ticket stub #6935634. With an expression of surprise Pepper realized she drew her own number. The remaining ten dollars goes to Hank Gruber holding ticket #6935589.Merry Christmas to all. See everybody next week…
