After taking Thanksgiving Day off, twenty-five men returned to the Nile for this week’s R.A.P. meeting. At the scheduled time John Guich rang the bell followed by President Green leading everybody in reciting the pledge of allegiance.
Bill welcomed all and a special hello to Ted Rovig and Jim Johnson, Jr.
To get things rolling with the beverage drawing John Guich asked Dean Quall to stir up the plastic chips. Out came number 12. A quick check of the logbook showed Jim Johnson, Jr the lucky winner.
Dick Sherwood is having heart problems that may lead to open heart surgery. Everyone say a little prayer for Dick’s speedy recovery.
The treasurer reported two weeks ago the club brought in $11.00. Checking account balance now up to $1463.00.
Catching up on birthdays, our Prince of Mirth Boyd Brannan is now 82, today is Eric Michl’s 58th birthday, Shawn O’Kinsella turns 83, and Gene Willard is now 80 years old. Happy birthday men.
Now for the Severance ten-dollar drawing. Al Nelson mixed up the chips pulling out number 14. Another quick check of the logbook showed Dean Quall’s name on line 14.
Bill called for jokes. Greg Goldwyn was ready with a cute story about a grandfather and a grandson walking in snow. Enough said.
At next Thursday’s RSPOA/RAP Christmas lunch Eric Michl has offered his services in notarizing the pension office yearly reporting forms. And for anybody having difficulty in obtaining notary services Eric will drive to their home. Thank you, Eric.
Time for the raffle. John Guich collected $120.00 to give away. The treasurer stirred up the ticket stubs and in a smart-ass manner read the winning number 3887404 backward. Jim Johnson had no trouble in claiming the big dollars. For the remaining money Dick Rovig reached into the jug and came out with number 3887428 held by Eric Michl. Congratulations to all the winners.
See everybody next week at the Christmas lunch.
