For the meeting this week, twenty-four men and women signed their names in the official log book. At 12:00 Noon Cory Ness rang the bell; Mike Severance led the pledge of allegiance followed by President Nordlund calling the gathering to order.
Good to see Greg Goldwyn attending his second meeting. As you recall Greg was with the Venturia County Sheriff’s Office. Last week Cloyd Steiger introduced Greg to the crowd.
For the Witkowski beverage drawing, Bill asked Ivan Feilberg to stir up the chips. Out came chip #19 belonging to Jim Johnson.
Sad news from the pension office: Myron Maxwell #928 passed away on December 2nd at the age of 92. And a real shocker Dick Gagnon #3145 passed away also on December 2nd. Dick was 72 years old. Dick’s service is scheduled for Saturday, December 15th beginning at 3:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church of Snohomish, 1306 Lake View Ave. Mike Germann recently had surgery. A sympathy card for Sue Gagnon was passed around for everybody to sign. Also, a card for Mike was signed by all.
Our treasurer reported last week the club brought in $16.00. The checking account balance is now $2467.00.
Celebrating birthdays this week are Eric Michl and Shaun O’Kinsella. Eric turns 57 years old and Shaun has reached the age of 82. Happy birthday men.
Time for the Severance ten-dollar drawing. Kathy Ness stirred up the chips. Out came #11 belonging to our Past President Greg Pote.
To start the laughter Kathy told us the definition of “Fascinate”. Some connection with large breasts. Paul Barden was next in line with two short stories.
Time for the raffle. Paul collected $105.00 to hand-out. Jerry Taylor reached into the plastic jug pulling out ticket stub #8493872. Silence fell over the crowd up until Dick Sherwood realized he was holding the winning ticket. The remaining $5.00 went to Roy Skagen who had purchased ticket #8493964. Congratulations to all the winners.
See everybody next Wednesday at the Christmas lunch…
