DECEMBER 7, 2017

Under bright blue chilly skies, twenty-eight members and guests signed in to enjoy another week of friendship and good conversation at our weekly meeting.  At straight up Noon, Merv Henderson had the honor of ringing the club’s official bell directing all to stand for our country’s Pledge of Allegiance led by President Pote.  Welcome back to Greg and his wife Patti who were in Montana for the birth of their granddaughter Regan.

Under “Longtime No Sees” good to see Bob Little and Verlin Judd in the crowd.

Greg called for the Witkowski beverage draw.  Merv had Patti Pote mix up the plastic chips.  She pulled out number 12 today belonging to her husband.  Greg didn’t see the money.

No news from the pension office.  Dick Rovig is still recovering from his bout with pneumonia.  Hopefully he will be feeling well enough to attend next week’s Christmas lunch.

Treasurer Nordlund reported that last week the club made $28.00 bringing the checking account up to $2188.09.  Shaun O’Kinsella celebrated his 81st birthday and Eric Michl celebrated his 56th.  Happy birthday men.

Time to giveaway five dollars.  Merv asked Jim Johnson to pick the winning plastic chip.  And the number is 11 belonging to Paul Giersch.

In the absence of our Prince of Mirth, Paul Barden started the laughter with a story about two female Seattle city counsel members who were trying to measure the height of the flag pole.  Two police officers came to the rescue.  Cloyd Steiger told us about Silvia and Wanda talking about how they died.  If Silvia only had looked in the freezer.

Paul collected $115.00 to give away.  Our $5.00 winner reached into the plastic jug and pulled out ticket number 6219917 purchased by Mike Severance.  For the remaining dollars, Mike pulled out ticket number 6219962 held by Jim Campbell.  Congratulations to all the winners.

See everybody next Wednesday at the Christmas lunch…
