FEBRUARY 2, 2017

Under clear crisp winter skies thirty-four men and women signed in to enjoy another week of friendship and good conversations. At 12:00 noon Acting Vice-President Greg Pote rang the club’s bell followed by the pledge of allegiance led by President Bill Green. Bill asked all to remain standing for a moment of silence in honor of Bill Bartlett #1763 who passed away on January 25th at age 93 and Mike Balser #3393 who died on January 29th at age 71.

Looking around the room it was good to see Ted Rovig attending with his dad Dick and Jim Campbell’s wife Marina.

For the weekly Witkowski beverage drawing, Greg had Marina Campbell mix up the plastic chips. And today’s winner is Al Nelson who signed in on line 31.

Treasurer Guich was not in attendance today but he mailed in his report stating the club has a little more money than last week.

Next week Cory Ness will turn 65 years old. In anticipation of signing up for Medicare, Kathy brought a birthday cake for everyone to share. Thanks Cory and Kathy.

To give away $5.00 Kathy stirred up the chips and pulled out number 18 belonging to Eric Michl.

Our Prince of Mirth was with us day. Following tradition Boyd started the laughter with a story about two Australian women on a plane. One wanted to be treated like a woman. Kathy followed up by telling us about a blind man in a diner who had an uncanny sense of smell.

Chuck Pillon states he recently discovered Facebook. To his surprise one of his first Friend’s request came from Patrick Fitzsimons.

For the raffle today, Paul collected $140.00. For the big bucks, Marina Campbell pulled out ticket #2255219 held by Chuck Pillon. For the remaining dollars, Kathy Ness chose ticket #2255186 purchased by Greg Pote. Congratulations to all the winners.

Don’t forget the RSPOA meeting next Wednesday. Also, mark March 10th on your calendar for Fred “The Godfather” Ibuki retirement party here at the Nile.

See everybody next week…
