FEBRUARY 20, 2020

Under bright blue sunny skies thirty-two men and women signed in to enjoy another R.A.P. meeting with friendship and good conversations.  At 12:00 noon Joe Sanford rang the bell followed by President Green leading the pledge of allegiance.

Bill welcomed everybody.  Great to see Roy and Carol Wedlund, Jim and Roz Philbrick, Annette Schenck and her daughter Susan Thompson in attendance.  Greg Goldwyn introduced Matt Wasteney.  Matt was an investigator for the Contra Costa County, CA prosecutor’s office.  He and his wife are now living in the Bothell area.  Welcome to R.A.P. Matt.  Hope to see you at more meetings.

For the beverage drawing, Joe asked Carol Wedlund to stir up the chips.  Out came number 23.  A quick check of the logbook showed Jim Philbrick the winner.

In news from the pension office, sorry to report that Glenn Rouse lost his wife Lynn on February 15th.  Lynn was 72 years old.  Florence Rothaus widow of Don Rothaus #947 passed away.  Florence was 100 years old.  Also, Mike Trocha #3667 who for many years was CSO #12 passed away on February 13th from the affects of Agent Orange.  Tom Caldwell was recently hospitalized for heart problems.  A “Get Well” card was passed around to all to sign and will be forwarded to Tom.

The treasurer reported last week the club brought in $7.00.  Checking account balance is $972.00.

Gene Birkeland is celebrating his 79th birthday this week.  Happy birthday Gene.

Now for the Severance ten-dollar drawing.  Roy Wedlund mixed up the chips picking number six (or was it nine).  Greg Goldwyn is the lucking winner.

President Green called for the jokes.  Pepper Pramhus stepped forward with a cute story about her late husband Boyd when assigned to the horse patrol having a problem with an arrogant woman about a leash violation.  Bill read a joke from the official R.A.P. Joke Book having to do with the Pope and Jack Nicklaus playing golf (or something like that).

For the raffle today Paul collected $135.00.  Pepper reached into the plastic jug coming out with ticket stub #6936922 purchased by Shaun O’Kinsella.  The remaining dollars goes to Al Nelson holding ticket #6936946.

Congratulations to all the winners.  See everybody next week.
