FEBRUARY 27, 2020

With a hint of spring in the air today thirty-two men and women signed in to enjoy another R.A.P. meeting whereas always friendships are renewed, and good conversations abound.  At the scheduled time Cory Ness rang the bell followed by Nick Bulpin leading the pledge of allegiance.

President Green welcomed everybody and hello to Chuck Zigler who we haven’t seen for a little while and hello to Patty Pote.  Also, hello to Verlan Judd.

To get things rolling Bill called for the beverage drawing.  Joe asked Pepper Pramhus to stir up the white plastic chips.  Out came number one.  Dave DeMoss is today’s winner.

In news from the pension office, sorry to report Allan Gustin #3055 passed away on February 24th.  Allan was 83 years old.  Memorial service date will be announced later.  Joyce Scheuffele, wife of Charlie, passed away on February 22nd.  Joyce was 86 years old.  And finally, Mike Trocha’s memorial service will be held on March 22nd beginning at 1:00 pm at the Abundant Life Church, 220 W Young St, in Elma.

Now for the treasurer’s report.  Last week the club brought in $27.00.  Checking account climbing.  Now up to $999.00.

No birthday’s this week.

Time for the Severance ten-dollar drawing.  Verlan mixed up the chips pulling out number six.  The winner is Ivan Feilberg.

In the absence of our Prince of Mirth, Kathy Ness, Paul Barden, and Greg Goldwyn are always at the ready to start the laughter.  Kathy had a story about Forest Gump and St. Peter.  Paul told us why we love old folks, and Greg knew about a preacher who told his class he was a Sanders supporter.

Jerry Taylor gave the crowd a legislative update and advised all not to send the LEOFF I Coalition any money.  At this point in time nothing on the legislative agenda that will affect LEOFF I or LEOFF II pensions.

Time for the raffle.  Paul collected $150 to give away.  For the big dollars Dean Quall reached into the plastic jug coming out with ticket stub number 6937056 held by Joe Bouffiou.  For the remaining dollars Dick Rovig pulled out ticket stub number 6937219 held by Past President Greg Pote.

Congratulations to all the winners.  See everybody next week.
