FEBRUARY 6, 2020

This week’s meeting had thirty-two men and women in attendance enjoying friendships and good conversations.  Right on schedule at 12:00 Noon Cory Ness sounded the official bell followed by Joe Sanford leading the pledge of allegiance.

President Green welcomed everyone and hello to Jim Philbrick who we haven’t seen in a few months.  And a big hello to Dick Sherwood attending his first R.A.P. meeting since undergoing heart repair.

To get things rolling Bill called for the beverage drawing.  Joe asked Jim to stir up the chips.  Out came number four.  A quick check of the logbook showed Jerry Taylor’s name on line four.

In news from the pension office, sorry to report that Dores Robinson passed away at age 98.  Dores was the widow of Donald Robinson who retired for service in 1976.

Our treasurer reported last week the club brought in five dollars.  Checking account balance now up to $923.00.

Celebrating their birthday’s this week include Cory Ness (who handed out delicious chocolate chip cookies) now 68 years old; Pepper Pramhus celebrated her 75th birthday; Jim Tagart turns 81 years old and Jim Vandebogart is now 73.  Happy birthday to all.

Time for the Severance ten-dollar drawing.  Joe asked Al Nelson to pick the lucky winner.  And the winner is John Guich signing in on line two.

At this point in the meeting Bill called for jokes.  Kathy Ness stepped forward with a story about three women traveling to Mexico who got intoxicated, committed a capitol offense that led to their botched execution.  Paul followed up telling all about the little kid who lost his grandpa at the Home Depot store.

Roy Skagen announced that “Friends of the N.R.A.” will be holding a dinner at the Nile on February 15th.  This is a big event and you can go on-line for further information.

Time for the raffle.  Paul has $140.00 up for grabs.  Jim Philbrick reached into the plastic jug coming out with ticket stub #6936604 purchased by Joe Bouffiou.  The reminder of the cash money goes to Cloyd Steiger holding ticket #6936412.  Congratulations to all winners.

Don’t forget next Wednesday is the monthly retired officers’ meeting.  Bruce Wind is the speaker who will be talking about “Code 4”.
