For the first meeting of the new year, twenty-five members signed their name to the official logbook. As previously scheduled at 12 Noon John Guich rang the bell, Eric Michl led the pledge of allegiance followed by President Green welcoming everybody.
Nice to see Tom Caldwell in the crowd. It’s been a couple months since he last attended.
For the beverage drawing Joe Sanford asked Tom to stir up the chips. Out came number one today belonging to Dave DeMoss.
In news from the pension office, sorry to report the Bill Shears #2240 passed away on December 28th. Bill was 83 years old. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 9th at 11 AM at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 1825 E College Way, Mt Vernon. As reported last week John Chytil #2175 passed away on December 21st at age 82. John’s memorial service will be held on January 18th beginning at 11 AM in Tacoma at the Gaffney Funeral Home, 1002 S Yakima Ave.
The treasurer reported last week the club brought in fifty cents. Our checking account balance is down to $877.00.
Celebrating their birthdays this week are Nick Bulpin and Tom Caldwell. Nick turned 78 and today is Tom’s 86th birthday. Happy birthday men.
For the Severance ten-dollar drawing Joe asked Jim Johnson, Jr to mix up the chips. Out came number ten appropriately belonging to Tom Caldwell.
Nobody had any jokes to tell so Bill called for the raffle. Today Paul collected $135.00 to give away. President Green reached into the plastic jug coming out with ticket stub #6935801 purchased by Dean Quall. For the remaining dollars Dean drew out ticket stub #6935703 held by John Guich and company. Congratulations to all the winners.
