RAP | Retired & Active Police
JUNE 20, 2019
On this last day of spring, twenty-eight members and guests signed the official logbook. At around noon President Green sounded the bell then hustled to the podium to lead the pledge of allegiance then called the meeting to order.
Good to see Marty Spotanske back with us. Hello to Mike Sanford and Al Lima. Al has been in the hospital the past few weeks suffering from a bladder infection. Dan Melton introduced Tim Cook. Tim recently retired from the jail staff. Welcome to everybody.
To get things rolling with the beverage drawing, Joe Sanford asked Al to stir up the chips. Out came number three belonging to John Guich who signed in absentia. Dave DeMoss promised to make sure John got his drink.
From the desk of Dan Oliver, sorry to report that Rudy Vanderlaan #2767 passed away on June 18th. Rudy was 81 years old. His services will be held this coming Saturday in Paradise, Utah.
Bill called for the treasurer’s report. Our treasurer reported last week the club brought in no money. The checking account balance remains at $2741.
Celebrating their birthdays this week include Joe Bouffiou who turns 76, Dick Hutchinson is 89 years young, Pat Munter is 76, our “Treasurer for Life” Bert Richards is now 92, and finally Rudy Sutlovich. Rudy is 78. Happy birthday men.
Time for the Severance ten-dollar give away. Dave Smoots stirred up the plastic chips pulling out number six (or is it nine). Nick Bulpin assured the crowd the number was six and claimed the cash money.
In the absence of our real Prince of Mirth, Greg Goldwyn stepped forward with a very long story about a man spending the night at a monastery.
For the raffle today Paul Barden and Dave DeMoss collected $115.00 to handout. Mike Sanford reached into the plastic jug and came out with ticket stub #3742660. The big bucks go to Greg Goldwyn. For the remaining dollars, Joe Sanford stirred up the ticket stubs and pulled out #3742716 handing his son Mike the cash. Congratulations to all the winners.
See everybody next week…
