MARCH 23, 2017

Today we finally had Spring like weather that prompted twenty-six R.A.P. club members to gather for our weekly meeting. At exactly 12:00 Noon Acting Vice President Jim Campbell rang the club’s bell. In the absence of President Green, Vice President Greg Pote called the meeting to order and led all in reciting the pledge of allegiance.

Greg welcomed Past President Dennis Hossfeld whom we haven’t seen in a couple weeks. Also, good to see Joe Bouffiou and John Patrick attending.

For the Witkowski beverage drawing Jim asked John Patrick to pick the winning chip. And the number is three. A quick check of the log-in book revealed that Dennis Hossfeld is the winner.

No sad news from the pension office to report. But the good news is our pension checks will increase by 2.28 percent. Our server Carmen told us that Nile employee Jade Reed was the women who was killed by the train in Edmonds Sunday evening.

Treasurer John Guich says the club has $2582.38 in the bank but in the words of the main stream media offers no evidence. This week no birthdays to celebrate.

Greg called for the five-dollar give away. Dennis Hossfeld pulled out Ron Chapman’s chip. (There must be something about number one.)

To start the laughter, Paul Barden told us about the third-grade teacher asking little Jimmy what he wanted to be when he grew up. One thing for certain little Nancy will always be with him. Greg explained how a club scout becomes a boy scout. Something to do with Brownies.

Today Paul collected $115.00 to raffle off. Once again John Sullivan was called upon to reach into the plastic jug to pick the lucky number. Dean Quall is the winner of the big bucks having purchased ticket #2256288. For the little bucks, Dean pulled out ticket #2256293 purchased by two-time winner Ron Chapman. Congratulations to all the winners.

See everybody next week…
