Retired Seattle Police Officers Association

RAP | Retired & Active Police

RAP meets every Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Nile Country Club, 205th & Interstate 5.

MARCH 28, 2019

Today’s meeting saw twenty-six men and women sign in to enjoy friendship and good conversation.  Vice-President Green rang the bell, Paul Barden led the pledge of allegiance, and for the final time President Nordlund called for order.

A big hello to Jim Johnson, Jr, Patty Pote, and Joe Fewell.

For the beverage drawing this week, Bill asked Patty to stir up the chips.  And the winning chip number is 22.  A quick check of the log-book showed Jim Johnson, Jr. the winner.

No news from the desk of Dan Oliver.  On Saturday, March 30th between 1:00 to 4:00 Mary Hallowell will host an informal reception honoring Bill at their condo 200 2nd Ave N., #203 in Edmonds.  All are welcome to attend.

Our treasurer reported last week the club made $21.00.  Bank account now has $2649.00.

No birthdays to report.

Time for the Severance ten-dollar drawing.  Dan Melton mixed up the chips and came out with Ron Haviland’s number 15.

In the absence of the club’s real Prince of Mirth, Paul Barden stepped up with a cute story about a woman buying a gift certificate guaranteed to prevent erectile dysfunction.  Greg Goldwyn followed with a survey showing techniques used by the LAPD in apprehending criminals were far better than other agencies.

Now for the raffle.  Paul collected $115.00 to give away.  Patty Pote reached into the plastic jug and came out with ticket stub #2242933 purchased by Dave DeMoss.  For the remaining dollars Patty stirred up the remaining tickets and came out with #2242939 held by Dave DeMoss.  Congratulation to all our winners.

Don’t forget the SERGE lunch this coming Tuesday at the Apogee Pub in Fairwood.
