MAY 11, 2017

Following the normal course of events, attendance was down the day after the monthly RSPOA meeting with only twenty-four men and women signing their names to the logbook.   Merv Henderson got the day off work to act as vice president collecting the entry fees and at 12:00 noon ring the official club bell.  President Pote then led everybody in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

Greg called for the Witkowski beverage drawing.  Merv asked Jim Johnson to pick the winning number.  And today’s winner is Dick Sherwood who signed in on line 14.

In news from the pension office, Dan Oliver’s desk is clear.  The out-going Mayor is trying to eliminate all the city department personnel offices to combine them into one big Human Resources conglomeration.  For those with access to downtown Seattle, Ed Stridenger is having his retirement party Monday at 0900 hrs on the top floor of the Columbia Center.

No treasurer’s report as our treasurer failed to appear.  But this week Marc Olson celebrated his 60th birthday.  Happy birthday Marc.

To give away five dollars Merv had Marc pick the winning chip.  And the number is 16 belonging to Past President Bill Green.

In the absence of the Prince of Mirth, Kathy Ness started the smiles with a cute story about naked Nuns hiring a “blind” painter.  Kathy’s husband Cory followed up with a good joke until he was informed Mike Severance told the same story two meetings ago.  Good try Cory.

Joe Sanford was able to collect $115.00 to give away.  For the big dollars, Bill Green stirred up the ticket stubs and pulled out number 3756165.  Before anybody had a chance to check their tickets Kathy Ness claimed the prize.  Jim Johnson then reached into the plastic jug and pulled out number 3756153 handing Ted Gromley the remaining cash.

Congratulations to all the winners.  See everybody next week…
