RAP | Retired & Active Police

RAP meets every Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Nile Country Club, 205th & Interstate 5.

MAY 25, 2017

Extra tables had to be set up to accommodate the thirty-five members and guests attending today’s meeting.  The ringing of the club’s bell was almost drowned out by the sounds of good conversation and laughter.  President Pote led all in reciting our country’s pledge of allegiance.

Greg welcomed George Johnson, Ted Rovig, Bill Kroon, and Dennis Tichi.  Dave Hortin introduced his two sons Andy and Tony.  Andy is visiting from Japan and Tony from Houston.

From the Department of Sad News:  Larry Sutton #2586 passed away on Friday, May 19th at age 79.  A sympathy card was passed around and will be sent to Larry’s widow Mimi.  Also, Rick Craig #4558 passed away on Tuesday, May 23rd at age 66.  Dennis Tichi announced that a Choir Practice will be held after Cecie Doucet’s memorial service this coming Saturday.  The crowd will gather at the Red Hook Brewery in Woodinville at around 1:30.

Greg called for the Witkowski beverage draw.  Merv asked Cloyd Steiger to stir up the plastic chips.  Out came number 11 belonging to President Pote.

Treasurer Guich reported the club has $2597.08 in the bank and today is Drew Dowd’s 73rd birthday.  Happy birthday Drew.

To give away five-dollars, George Johnson pulled out chip number 14 handing Riley Brice the money.

Paul Barden entertained the crowd the stories about a blond trading sex for a six pack of beer and a farmer asking questions about impregnating his daughter.

For today’s raffle Paul collected $145.00 to hand-out.  For the big bucks George Johnson reached into the plastic jug and pulled out the winning ticket stub.  George proved the age process has begun as he had trouble finding the number on the ticket.  With Paul’s help the number is 3756435 purchased by our treasurer Guich.  For the remaining dollars Andy Hortin had no trouble reading number 9613182 held by Eric Michl.  Congratulations to all the winners.

See everybody next week…
