MAY 30, 2019
Today under nice sunny Spring weather, twenty-two men signed in for the weekly R.A.P. Club meeting. At 12:00 Noon Eric Michl rang the bell (a little more practice needed), Past-President Nordlund tried to lead the pledge of allegiance but forgot how it started, President Green took over then called the meeting to order.
Good to see Mike Burke in the crowd. Mike reported that Jerry Bickle is battling bladder cancer. Everyone wishes Jerry the very best.
Bill called for the beverage drawing. Joe Sanford had Mike mix up the white plastic chips. Out came number four. This week’s beverage drawing winner is Nick Bulpin.
In news from the pension office, Jon Emerick’s memorial service will be held on June 11th beginning at 1:00 pm. The service will be at the Thomas Family Farms, 9010 Marsh Road, Snohomish. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations to be made to John Emerick’s Lung Force Walk Team, Strong4Jon.
The treasurer reported last week the club made $12.00. Checking account balance is now $2715.00.
This week no R.A.P. members had a birthday.
Now for the Severance ten-dollar drawing. Joe asked Al Nelson to pick the lucky chip. The winner is Dick Sherwood who signed in on line 17.
The president now called for jokes. Greg Goldwyn and Paul Barden stepped forward. Both had “Little Johnny” stories. The central theme centered around Johnny’s parents having sex. (Can anybody remember those days)
For today’s raffle Paul collected $115.00 to hand out. The treasurer reached into the plastic jug coming out with ticket stub #3742479. After the appropriate amount of time passed, Dean Quall claimed the big money. The remaining dollars went to Bill Green holding ticket #3742284. Please note this is the second week in a row that our president won.
See everybody next week…
