RAP | Retired & Active Police
MAY 9, 2019
Under bright warm sunny skies and on the day after the monthly retired officers’ meeting, nineteen men and women signed in to enjoy the weekly gathering of friendship and good conversation.
At 12:00 Noon our President Bill Green rang the bell followed by Past-President Nordlund leading the pledge of allegiance.
Bill called for order and welcomed all. A special hello to Judi Smith. Judi introduced her friend Linda Rogers. Linda used to work in the records section. Her serial number is 3921.
For today’s beverage drawing, Joe had Linda stir up the plastic chips. The winning number is 10. A quick look at the logbook showed Jim VanDeBogart’s name on line 10.
Treasurer Nordlund reported last week the club brought in $12.00. The president’s plaque was updated to the tune of $22.00 leaving $2688.00 in the checking account.
Celebrating their birthdays this week include Greg Goldwyn who turned 63; Al Nelson is celebrating his 74th birthday today and Marc Olson is having his 62nd. Happy birthday men.
Time for the Severance ten-dollar drawing. Joe had Dan Melton pick the lucky winner. The winner is Roy Skagen who signed in on the last line, number 20.
In the absence of our real Prince of Mirth, Greg stepped forward with a story about a traffic stop that ended up involving machetes and a sobriety test.
For today’s raffle Paul collected one-hundred dollars to give away. Linda reached into the plastic jug and came out with ticket stub #3741866 purchased by Dan Melton.
Congratulations to all the winners. See everybody next week…
