Retired Seattle Police Officers Association

RAP | Retired & Active Police

RAP meets every Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Nile Country Club, 205th & Interstate 5.

NOVEMBER 14, 2019

On the day after the monthly retired officers’ meeting, twenty-one men returned to the Nile to continue their friendship and good conversation.  As 12:00 Noon approached John Guich rang the bell, the pledge of allegiance was recited followed by President Green calling for order.

Good to see Al Stephens in attendance.  Been about a year since Al was at R.A.P.  Hopefully he becomes a regular.

Bill called for the beverage drawing.  Joe Sanford asked Rudy Sutlovich to mix up the chips.  Out came number 10 belonging to Rudy’s old partner and good friend Hank Gruber.

Thankfully no sad news from the desk of Dan Oliver.  At yesterday’s meeting Dan told the crowd that the yearly reporting forms and Medicare reimbursement form will be mailed to each person’s address of record.

The treasurer reported last week the club brought in $6.27.  Checking account now $1440.27.

Celebrating their birthdays this week are Hal Fogus who turns 87, Ted Gormley will be 82 along with President Green, Annette Schenck is 83 years old and finally Jim Vaughn celebrates his 84th.  Happy birthday men and Annette.

Time for the Severance ten-dollar drawing.  Joe had President Green stir up the chips.  And the big winner is Nick Bulpin who today signed in on line six.

To start the laughter Paul Barden stepped forward with a story about why he enjoys retirement.  Al Nelson followed talking about “Leroy” the special needs child attending church.

To finish the meeting with the raffle, Paul collected an even one hundred dollars to give away.  Our president reached into the plastic jug coming out with ticket stub #3887168 purchased by Al Stephens.  Always pays to attend the R.A.P. meetings.  Congratulations to all our winners.

See everybody next week.  Christmas lunch sign up continues.  Don’t be left out…
