RAP meets every Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Nile Country Club, 205th & Interstate 5.

NOVEMBER 9, 2017

On the day after the RSPOA meeting, twenty-five men signed the log book to enjoy another week of friendship and good conversation.  At 12:00 Noon Treasurer Nordlund had the honor of ringing the club’s bell.  President Pote led the pledge of allegiance.  Greg asked all to remain standing to honor Tom Witkowski who passed away yesterday at age 78.  A sympathy card was passed around and will be sent to Barbara.  Greg also acknowledged that tomorrow will be the Marine Corps 242nd birthday.  Being the patriot that he is, Greg is the proud recipient of an American flag given to the 10th caller to the John Carlson morning radio program on 570 KVI.

President Pote welcomed Rudy Sutlovich’s cousin Gene Healey.  This is the second meeting Gene has attended.  And a big welcome back to Past President Dave Hortin.

For the Witkowski beverage drawing, John Guich asked Dave to pick the winning chip.  And the number is 11 belonging to President Pote.

News from the pension office: Lloyd Williams suffered a stroke.  He is at Swedish-Edmonds.  Lloyd has regained consciousness but in serious condition.  Rudy reports that Tim Hubbard is recovering from a lung transplant.  Shaun O’Kinsella reports that Al Schrader fell and broke his leg.  Roy Skagen says that Don Yeowell and his wife are both recovering from strokes.

Treasurer Nordlund reports that last week the club made $21.00 bringing the checking account balance up to $2134.09.  Celebrating their birthdays this week include Ivan Feilberg who turned 90, Hal Fogus is 85, Dick Hume is 84 and Dan Oliver has his 73rd.  Happy birthday men.

Time to give away $5.00.  Dean Quall pulled out chip number 24 handing the $5.00 bill to Gene Healey.

Nobody had a joke to tell.  Probably appropriate considering this week’s sad news.

For today’s raffle, John Guich had $110.00 to give away.  Roy Skagen reached into the plastic jug and pulled out ticket number 433977 held by Rudy Sutlovich.  For the remaining dollars Jim Johnson pulled out ticket number 433895 purchased by Nick Bulpin.  Congratulations to all the winners.

See everybody next week.  Word has it there will be a birthday cake to share
