OCTOBER 10, 2019
Under clear blue sunny skies, twenty-three men and women signed the logbook to enjoy another week of friendship and good conversation. At 12:00 Noon Cory Ness sounded the bell, President Green asked Roy Skagen to lead the pledge of allegiance followed by Bill welcoming everybody. Good to see Judi Smith and Annette with us along with Joe Fewell.
For the beverage drawing, Joe Sanford asked Roy to stir up the chips. The lucky winner is Jim Sharkey who signed in on line 14.
Riley Brice informed the crowd that on Tuesday Jim Stitt passed away. Jim was at last week’s meeting. A sympathy card for Jim’s family was passed around for all to sign. Jim was 85 years old.
Bill called for the treasurer’s report. Last week the club brought in $4.00. Checking account balance now up to $1417.05.
Celebrating birthday’s this week: Jeff Caldwell turns 64, Joe Fewell will be 68, and Jack Fox is now 83 years old. Happy birthday men.
Now for the Severance ten-dollar drawing. In honor of his birthday, Joe asked Joe to pick the winning number. After a few attempts to pick a valid chip, Joe switched to Greg Goldwyn was a sitting nearby. On the first try Greg picked his own number 15.
Joe has been having some health problems. He wants everybody to know that his doctor has certified the attendees at the weekly R.A.P. meeting as being therapists. Nothing like being with your friends to make you feel better.
Eric Michl advised everyone that he is a notary. When the yearly reporting forms are distributed Eric will be available to notarize the paperwork. He will be at the next retired officers’ meeting and at most R.A.P. meetings. A big thank you to Eric.
For the raffle, Paul collected $110.00 to give away. Roy Skagen reached into the plastic jug and came out with ticket stub #3886649 handing John Guich the big bucks. The remaining money went to President Green holding ticket stub #3886546.
Congratulations to all the winners. See everybody next week…
