RAP | Retired & Active Police
OCTOBER 11, 2018
On the day after the well-attended RSPOA meeting, seventeen R.A.P. club members returned to the Nile to continue enjoying companionship and good conversation. At 12:00 noon Vice President Green sounded the bell and Jim Sharkey led the group in reciting our country’s pledge of allegiance.
President Nordlund gaveled the meeting to order and welcomed everybody. Nice to see John Larson with us today.
For the Witkowski beverage drawing Bill asked Marty Spotanske to stir up the chips. After several attempts to pick a valid number out came number six today belonging to Nick Bulpin. (Nick deferred to the Severance drawing and only accepted $7.00.)
No news from the pension office.
Our treasurer reported last week the club brought in $15.00 pushing the checking account balance up to $2432.00.
Celebrating birthdays this week include Jeff Caldwell who turns 63, Joe Fewel had his 67th, Jack Fox will be 82 and Frank Roesler turns 83. Happy birthday men.
Time for the Severance ten-dollar drawing. Kathy Ness had the privilege of picking the winning number. And that number is two. John Guich is the winner.
In the absence of our Prince of Mirth, Kathy stepped forward with a cute story about a blond sitting in first-class hoping to arrive at the destination at the same time as the other passengers.
The raffle today only had $85.00 up for grabs. Kathy reached into the plastic jug and came out with ticket stub #8492992 purchased by Dick Sherwood. Congratulations to all the winners.
For those who like to plan ahead, mark December 12th on your calendar for the annual RSPOA/RAP Christmas Lunch…
