RAP meets every Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Nile Country Club, 205th & Interstate 5.

For this week’s meeting, twenty-two men and women signed their names in the official logbook.  At 12:00 noon Cory Ness rang the bell also leading the group in reciting our country’s pledge of allegiance.

President Green welcomed everybody and recognized Barry Long.  Barry is a longtime Nile Shurtah member and a retired Northwest Airlines captain.

Bill called for the beverage drawing.  Kathy Ness asked Judi Smith to stir up the chips.  Out came number 17 belonging to Annette Schenck.  (The women are in charge.)

In news from the desk of Dan Oliver, sorry to report that Stacie Davis, widow of Nick, passed away on Sept 17th.  Stacie was 74 years old.  Joreen Grosvenor, widow of Gordie, passed away on October 7th.  Joreen was 91 years old.  As reported last week, Jim Stitt #1813 passed away on October 8th.  Jim retired in March 1984 with 27 years of service.  A memorial service will be held for Jim on October 28th beginning at 10:30 am at the Holyrood Mausoleum Chapel, 205 NE 205th St.  A reception will be at the Nile beginning at 12:30 pm.  Past President Emil Drovetto #837 died on October 6th at age 94.  Emil was a Charter Member of the R.A.P. Club International, Chapter One.  He was the club’s 15th president serving the years 1994-95.  Emil retired in May 1975 with 28 years of service.  An open house celebrating Emil’s life will be held on October 26th between noon and 4:00 pm on the 15th floor at the Parkshore Senior Living, 1630 43rd Ave E.  A sympathy card for all to sign was passed around and will be sent to Emil’s son Joe.

Time for the treasurer’s report.  Last week the club brought in $3.95.  That brings the checking account up to $1421.00.

Celebrating their birthdays this week are Dan Cameron and Jerry Jorve.  Dan is now 86 years old and Jerry will be 82.  Happy birthday men.

President Green called for the Severance $10.00 giveaway.  This time Kathy asked Roy Skagen to mix up the chips.  The winner is Dan Melton who signed in on line 12.

Mark your calendar’s for Thursday, December 19th.  That is the date for the annual RSPOA/RAP Christmas lunch.  Eric Michl will be there with his notary stamp.  (Eric will not be attending the November RSPOA meeting.)

For the raffle today, Paul collected $100.00.  Annette reached into the plastic jug coming out with ticket stub #3886519 purchased by Dave DeMoss.
