RAP meets every Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Nile Country Club, 205th & Interstate 5.

OCTOBER 18, 2018

Attendance was back up to normal standards for today’s meeting when twenty-seven men and women signed the logbook.  Vice President Green rang the bell at Noon, everybody stood for the pledge of allegiance, President Nordlund pounded the gavel and welcomed all.

After missing a couple weeks, good to see Dick Rovig back in the crowd.  And hello to Patty Pote.

Eric Michl stirred up the chips for the Witkowski beverage drawing.  And the winning chip number is four belonging to Cory Ness.

No news from the desk of Dan Oliver.

The treasurer reported last week the club made no money.  Not even enough to properly fund the drawings.  The checking account balance remains at $2432.00.

During the week Dan Cameron celebrated his 85th birthday along with Jerry Jorve who turned 81.  Happy birthday men.

Eric Michl reported on the latest news regarding the contract.  The city council will vote on Monday the 22nd.  Seven yes votes are required.  Right now, it appears that Kshama Sawant and Mike O’Brien are no votes.  Lisa Herbold (ring in her nose) might also vote no.  It will be close.  Although it was reported in the local news that the Seattle Police Commission voted unanimously to oppose the contract, board members Joe Kessler and Kevin Stuckey were not present.  To understand how bad moral is: 28 officers to King County; 18 officers to Tacoma; 6 officers to Everett.

Time for the Severance ten-dollar drawing.  Jerry Taylor mixed up the chips and pulled out number eight.  A quick check of the logbook showed Ivan Feilberg today’s winner.

To lighten the mood and bring laughter to the crowd, Kathy Ness, Cory Ness, Paul Barden, and John Guich stepped forward with good jokes.

For today’s raffle Paul collected $115.00.  For the big bucks our vice president reached into the plastic jug and pulled out ticket stub #8493105 purchased by our perennial winner Annette Schenck.  For the remaining dollars Annette pulled out ticket stub #8493028 held by Al Nelson.  Congratulations to all the winners.

See everybody next week…
