RAP | Retired & Active Police
OCTOBER 25, 2018
Twenty-two R.A.P. club members signed in for today’s meeting. Great to see Jerry Trettevik with us and a big hello to Boyd Brannan. And another hello to Hank Gruber. And welcome to everybody.
After our Vice-President Green rang the bell at 12:00 Noon, Boyd led the pledge of allegiance.
President Nordlund pounded the meeting to order.
First order of business, the Witkowski beverage drawing. Bill asked Jerry to mix up the chips. Today’s winner is Nick Bulpin who signed in on line six.
In news from the pension office, Ron Shelman #2489 passed away on October 18th. Ron was 76 years old. We also lost two widows. Virginia Gavurnik passed away on October 3rd at age 76. And Lorraine Watson passed away on October 19th. Lorraine was 95 years old. Lorraine was married to Dick Watson #823 who died on the job in 1967. (For all the golfers everyone is familiar with the “Watson Trophy”.)
The treasurer reported last week the club brought in $6.00. Checking account balance is $2438.00.
This week no birthdays.
While Mike is enjoying golf in Maui we will still have the Severance ten-dollar drawing. Riley Brice stirred up the chips. And the lucky winner is Jim Stitt who signed in on line eleven.
Dan Oliver informed the crowd about labor negotiations and the impact on the contract.
Our real Prince of Mirth started the laughter with a story about a conversation between air traffic control and a pilot of a small plane flying upside down. To continue the laughter Riley Brice, Dan Melton, and Paul Barden had stories about little kids on the back porch, afternoon quickies, and music selections on a new Ram pick-up. Good job by all.
Paul collected $110.00 to give away. The president reached into the plastic jug pulling out ticket stub #8493142 purchased by Dave DeMoss. The remaining $10.00 goes to Dan who bought the last number available #8493307. Congratulations to all the winners.
See everybody next week…
