OCTOBER 4, 2018

A sunny Fall day enticed twenty-six R.A.P. club members and guest to sign in and engage in friendship and good conversation.  At 12:00 Noon the familiar sound of the club’s official bell was rung by our V.P. Bill Green.  The pledge of allegiance of led by John Capps (son of Dan Capps).  President Nordlund rapped the meeting to order and welcomed all.

Eric Michl introduced John Capps.  Nice to see John and everybody remembers his dad Dan.

For the Witkowski drawing, Bill had Jerry Smith mix up the white plastic chips.  After a couple of invalid drawings Jerry picked number three.  Congratulations to Ivan Feilberg.

No news from the desk of Dan Oliver.  Jim Stitt informed us that John Leach is back at Swedish Edmonds being treated to pneumonia.

Time for the treasurer’s report.  V.P. Green reports last week the club brought in zero dollars.  Our checking account balance remains at $2417.00.

Members celebrating birthdays this week include Phil Cruse who will be 90 years old.  (Good to see Phil and Sally at Tuesday’s SERGE lunch.)  Jim Johnson, Jr. and Cloyd Steiger are both celebrating their 60’s birthdays.  Happy birthday men.  (Please let me know what it feels like to be 60).

Time for the Severance ten-dollar drawing.  (A belated congratulations to Mike for his hole-in-one at number 17 at Dungeness).  (And a side note to Dick Rovig he did not hit driver.)  Bill had Ted Gormley stir up the chips.  The winner today is Jim Sharkey signing in on line number eight.

In the absence of our Prince of Mirth, Paul Barden stepped forward with true stories about a Catholic being on the wrong side of the confessional booth and a Florida State Trooper chasing down a senior citizen on I-95.

After the laughter died down Paul told the crowd he had $115.00 to give away.  Annette Schenck reached into the plastic jug and came out with ticket stub #8492876 purchased by Past President Dave Hortin.  For the remaining dollars Annette picked ticket #8492775 held by Al Lima.  (And thanks to Al for driving down from Camano Island to join us today.)

Jerry Smith wanted all to know there is a Crab Feed at the Nile on Sunday starting at 4:00 pm.

A remainder to all. The Chief will be the guest speaker at next Wednesday’s RSPOS meeting.  Let’s fill the room…
