PENSION OFFICE NEWS

  • Results of the Rap Picnic Bocce Ball contest is Team John and Rita Guich, and Team Steve (Slug) Anderson and Shaun O’Kinsella were the first-place winners. Steve said he would rather share the glory and money than have to throw those big heavy Bocce Ball any longer.  Ivan Feilberg was the big white elephant winner with an electronic fly swatter and ukulele. He was seen walking around strumming the ukulele while singing “Tiny Bubbles”.  Don Ho look out.
     
  • Reminder – In November you will receive a Social Security notice stating what your cost for the 2020 Medicare Part B premiums will be.  Do not throw this away!  Keep for your records.  The Pension Office uses this document to reimburse you for your Medicare Part B payment.  If you have any questions, contact Stephanie at (206-) 386-12886, Option 3, or email at stephanie.coleman@seattle.gov.
     
  • Snow birds – remember to get your winter address in to the Pension Office.  Call Stephanie at (206) 386-1286 Option 3 or email policepension@seattle.gov.
     
  • The limit for hearing aids is now $6,000 ($3,000 per-ear), it is no longer $7,000.  The new limit of $6,000 is still above the average cost of our retirees’ appliances.
