They began arriving in April and some of you may have already received them.  If not, don’t worry, they will come to you any time within the next year and a half.  Please watch for them and remember to send the Pension Office a copy of your new card once it arrives.

New Retirements

Sandi Mount #7164 will be retired this month after 15 years. Sandi came from the private sector. She worked for an engineering firm. All she will say about that is, engineers are boring. They are just about dates. Then she went to work for a school district which prepared her to work for the Department.

She came to work for the PD in 2003, first as a Temp in Burglary North. Then she landed a permanent spot in Personnel. The very day she started her new job, it was abrogated – good planning, huh? So, back to being a Temp in Arson and Bombs. Then in 2008, she became the section secretary of Human Resources. Over the next ten years, she morphed into the head den mother, training up eight different Directors of Personnel. The question is, didn’t they pass the training, or did she simply wear them out?

In retirement, she, and Mark #5023, are going to finish remodeling their home. For relaxation, Sandi will be able to restore her garden that was destroyed during the remodel. They will also be taking trips to see their children and grandchildren in California.
