Minutes of Monthly Meeting
December 13, 2017

President Taylor called the meeting to order in the ballroom of the Nile Country Club, at noon December 13th 2017.  John Nordlund led the pledge of allegiance.

President Taylor then welcomed all 125 people present to attend the annual RAP/RSPOA Christmas lunch. He asked for indulgence while two important business matters had to be attended to.

RSPOA Bylaws require elections of officers be held every two years. Nominations were opened for all positions at the October meeting and again at the November meeting. Anyone seeking a board position were asked to contact Election Chairman, John Guich. Guich reported no positions were challenged and all current board members indicated they will continue to serve.   A motion was made and seconded to accept the current board of directors and officers. Motion carried unanimously.

Secondly, the RSPOA Board were apprised of the need of the Seattle Police Honor Guard to replace their uniforms. The board was poled, made aware of the need and unanimously agreed to donate $10,000.00 toward the replacement of uniforms for the twenty person all volunteer Guard. This announcement was received with a round of applause by all present.

President then adjourned the RSPOA business portion as lunch was being served at 1215 hours.

Following lunch John Nordlund conducted a door prize drawing assisted by John Guich. Following that, RAP/RSPOA honorary member, Gene Willard, conducted additional gift giveaways.

125 people enjoyed a great lunch and social gathering.
