PENSION OFFICE NEWS

  • Happy New Year!

  • The 2019 Reporting Form Packets were mailed out in November. So far, there are almost 300 who have not returned their packets. Please send them in!

  • Last month I wrote 125 members attended the Christmas luncheon at the Nile. Many members caught the fact that my article came out before the lunch even occurred. Well, 125 members actually did attend, so it turns out I’m a pretty good prognosticator as well as a great procrastinator!

  •  As you know, Federal Judge Robart was to rule if the City/Guild contract was in compliance with the DOJ/City agreement. He is reported to do this in February. So, the City is going forward with the salary increases. Labor Relations released the new salary schedules for the years 2015 through 2019 just before Christmas. The Pension Office will start the comparison of benefits calculation process after January 2, 2019. There are five years of calculations for all prior act pre-LEOFF members entitled to RCW 41.20. pension law. This hand process will take time, so expect the retro until sometime after February 1, 2019.

  • In early December, the Pension Office mailed out the Medical Benefits booklets to retirees explaining your medical and dental coverage. Let us know if you didn’t receive yours.
